What Is a Holon?

If you have not heard of this place then you might want to learn about it. A hole is nothing more than a part and a whole. The word is used by Arthur Koestler, in his novel The Ghost Writer and it is also an ancient Greek term preceding the Latin equivalent universus, in the same sense as totality, which was once used by the Greeks to mean the whole world.

The different meaning of the word is due to the fact that in some contexts it means totality, but in others, it is used to refer to a particular part of something. If you were to look at the structure of a human being, there are two parts - the head and the body. The head is the whole and the body is the part that we see, hear, smell and touch.

There are many forms of holons. In the context of computer science, you can think of a holocron as a holon. A quantum mechanical phenomenon, which is not well understood, appears to create a holoship, or a holoproblem, in space and time, where a pair of identical quantum objects are entangled with one another. The same quantum objects which are entangled in such a manner, appear to occupy the same physical space and time, but are separated by a probability level.

The presence of one quantum object in a given space and time but the absence of another, is said to cause the existence of a probability of that other being present. The existence of a possibility of the other being present causes the other to be present in the same probability level.

If there are more than one quantum systems which have been entangled with each other, there will be a holosphere or a holoproblem. The probability of a particular quantum system's presence is measured by the probability of the presence of all the other quantum systems, combined together. This means that there is more than one probability of the particle existing. However, when all the particles are combined together, there is only one probability.

When one particle is being left or right handed, the particle with the opposite sign is said to be in a holoship. if there is only one possibility and if the particle is on the left side of a triangle; if the particle is on the right side of a triangle; and if the particle is in a state which is parallel to both, the other particles are said to be in holoships.
